Wyoming 's Only Full-Service Document Management Company
IRC & Wyoming Archives
The Archives provides services through three work units: Reference, Research and Historical Photos; Records Management; and Micrographics.
The Archives also sponsors or participates in workshops, conferences, and various other events pertaining to Wyoming history and the
preservation and management of records. The Records Management Unit provides assistance to state and local government agencies for
the efficient and economical management of records The Archives and Micrographics Program guides the state agencies and political
subdivisions in photographic and document preservation procedures.
IRC has considered our Wyoming State Archives (WSA) its partner in records management excellence since the founding of the company.
As Intermountain Microfilm Service we adopted all of WSA micrographics standards on behalf of all our clients. We used
their political subdivision retention schedules to identify our potential clients as we marketed our microfilm imaging services for
the preservation of permanent records during the 1980's. Janie was mentored by Tony Adams, our State Archivist, to
earn her Certification as a Records Manager in the 1990's. Our destruction services were born when Archives shortened retention
schedules allowing for destruction of previously permanent records. We built our record center when Archives returned all the
non-state agency records to the political subdivisions. Whenever Archives has had major issues to address, IRC has been proactive
in being a commmercial provider of solutions on behalf of our mutual end-users.
